At times a landscape asks for much more than something for the clients to enjoy and this project was one of those times. With a space for tranquility for the owners to reside in, whilst relating to and respecting the environment surrounding it this garden was intended to cover all the bases of a well organised ecosystem as Mother Nature intended.
AT Garden Spaces
A Little Background
We usually right a little bit about the project ourselves here, but our lovely client seemed to have summed up the whole landscaping process with her testimonial. So we thought we’d let her tell the tale of this garden from start to finish and what she experienced with on the journey with us!
“When I could not find a gardening/landscaping company in our area on the south coast of NSW, I found AT Garden Spaces on the SGA website, and took a long shot and contacted them to see if they may know someone they could recommend.
We were looking for someone who could turn the natural watercourse on our property – which was basically a weed and mosquito infested swamp - into something that was maintainable, sustainable and that looked like the natural environment.
Alisha and Tarnia literally went the extra mile, travelling to our property several times in 2019 to assess, design and create a river bed that runs in the rain and is dry otherwise. It is so beautiful that neighbours have brought their children to watch it flow in heavy downpours.
Alisha is truly a rock whisperer, as people think all the rocks in the watercourse and a series of steps were already there. The rock placement is so astonishing that if we chose to camp out on a grassy area beside it, it would be like camping in the high country.
The watercourse provided a protection zone around our house in the recent devastating bush fires that destroyed houses in our street and then handled the flooding rains that finally extinguished the fires two months later.
Alisha and Tarnia know their job, they listen, they are reliable, they are friendly and easy to work with – and we wished they lived down the road - we cannot recommend them highly enough.
